"Well, we'll see," Tuck said. "First I just hope it's full of hot showers and warm beds."

"That sounds really good," I said. "I guess I can take some time to relax, seeing as how I'll need to be looking for a new job."

"Seriously dude," Tuck said, "think about an occupation other than a mesothelioma lawyer, will you?"

"Well," I said, "if the mesothelioma is gone, I guess I'm going to have to. We all will. Come to think of it, they're going to have to rename the town. It can't be Mesothelioma Lawyers, New York anymore. What do you think it should be?"

"We can put it to a vote later," Milli said with a smile. "Right now, let's just go home."

"That's a great idea," I said. I closed my eyes, took a big long stretch, and finally allowed myself to yawn after this very long day. "Alright, let's go."

When I looked at Milli, she was staring at me with her jaw dropped, and almost looked like she was trembling. I looked at Tuck, who was showing a similar reaction. They both took a step backwards.

"Jack," Milli asked, "are you feeling OK?"

"I feel great," I answered. "Today I will usher in my new world, and destroy all who oppose me."

Wait, why did I say that? That didn't sound like me. All the stress I had been under must be playing tricks on my mind.

I turned and paced a bit, trying to clear my head. Then I happened to catch my reflection in the mirror.

My eyes were glowing.
