I didn't know if he'd even believe me, but I tried. "Mrityu came. He just burst right through the door. He was a dragon with seven heads and ten horns."
"Just as Revelation described the beast," Tuck commented.
"He said something that sounded threatening, but I didn't understand it: 'Avada Kedavra.'"
"That's Aramaic," Tuck replied. "It means 'Let the thing be destroyed.'"
"I figured it wasn't 'Let's have a tea party,'" I said. "So I just said the first thing that came to mind: 'Expecto Patronum.'"
"Good choice," Tuck said. "That's classical Latin, meaning 'I await a protector.'"
"And that worked?" I asked. "I just said that, there was a flash of light, and I woke up here. How could it be so simple?"
"Well," Tuck answered, "I'm not thinking that it was what you said. I'm thinking that it was what you did beforehand."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You know," Tuck said, "our Unholy Communion, where we consumed the body and blood of the Antichrist."
"What?" Milli asked in shock.
"It's OK, honey," I said. "I'll explain later. It's a long story."
"One that has a really cool and happy ending," Tuck added.
"But I don't understand," I said. "I ate Mrityu, so I had power over him, and he couldn't destroy me?"
"That," Tuck said, "or he destroyed the part of himself that was in you, or something like that. Anyway, he's gone now, and today is the dawning of a new age."
"One full of harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding?" I asked.
