Anyway, while we couldn't leave town, as long as we stayed within the town walls we were perfectly free to go where we wanted to go, see what we wanted to see, converse amongst ourselves, and even post things on the internet.

The one exception seemed to be that anytime we tried to post any hard evidence of the existence of Mesothelioma Lawyers online, it never worked. We would try to upload a photo, and it would say the maximum file size was exceeded, or the photo would be altered after it went online, or something like that.

Everyone found that peculiar, but like everything else, it was just one of the strange things we got used to. I'm not sure what was behind that. I guess we just had bad internet connections or something. I mean, it's not like people were monitoring all our internet activity and censoring us 24/7. No, that would be crazy.

The one thing about our town's history that everyone knew and talked about openly was the cancer that was its namesake. Not only did we have some of the first reported cases of mesothelioma in the country, and not only was our mesothelioma rate way up in the stratosphere, but it was increasing at a staggering rate.

It's like when one cancerous cell divides into two cells, and they become four, and they become eight, and they become sixteen, and they keep doubling over and over and over. Not only is the cancer growing, but it's growing at an increasing rate.
